Hello, My name is Bruna Mayer, and to tell you who I am, I’m going to start with who I’m not. I’m not an illustrator, I'm not a designer, I´m not a painter, or a fine artist. I'm an artist. That's right, an artist. And by "artist" I mean, a person who has the ability to think conceptually and uses different materials to express these ideas. It's not the materials that define who an artist is, even though that's what we like to think. We categorize people by the materials they use, by calling them photographers, painters, and designers. But in truth, an artist can visualize and create, and then chooses the materials to express those thoughts.

         As of now I am learning and getting out of Art Center the most I possibly can, which is a whole lot. I want to include my work in many shows, and different galleries. But that's not what I'm going to be doing for my entire carrier. That's just a starting point. I want to make art, in order to make a difference in this world. I have a voice, and I'm going to use it. And in order to do that, I'm not just going to make art for the art world. I want to bring the art world to the general public. I want art to be appreciated by people who otherwise would not. There's a great population out there that is not interested in art, because they know nothing about it. But I want to reach out to these people, and in order to make a difference we have to reach not only other artists, but also a wider audience. I think it's a difficult task, but a possible one. And I'm willing to work hard enough to achieve it.
